AUCTION 2010 A BIG SUCCESS
2010’s auction – Novel Destinations – was held Feb. 6, 2010 at the library with over 100 people in attendance. They were treated to a guided tour of the auction, abundant and delicious food, complimentary wine, and a myriad of items up for bid.
There was lots of conversation as people dined around the fireplace, and friendly competition as they vied to win their choices.
At the end of the evening the attendees were shown the conceptual drawing of the Donor Recognition board, which will be constructed shortly. The board will identify donors who give $1,000 and up to the Foundation. Annie and George Vigileos are the first to be recognized as they donate in honor of Haggen Food and Drug. They commented that this business is a strong supporter of all activities in Tualatin and they want the community to know that. Thanks George and Annie.
The Foundation is grateful to all the businesses and individuals who donated items to be auctioned off. The suppliers of the delicious food were Sushiville, New York Ruben’s, Lee’s Chinese Kitchen, P.F. Chang's, and Fred Meyer. Coca-Cola Bottling Company provided soft drinks, bottled water and tea. Compass Computing Group, Inc sponsored the event.
More than $8000 was raised at the event. To everyone who purchased a ticket, that came to the event, or was the highest bidder, we thank you. Your participation assisted the Tualatin Library Foundation in its mission of “securing resources to preserve and expand library services for our community”.
