Contributors to the Tualatin Library Foundation Can Support Oregon Culture Statewide at NO ADDITIONAL COST to You!
The Tualatin Library Foundation is pleased to participate in the Oregon Cultural Trust tax credit matching program that gives you the privilege of redirecting a portion of your Oregon state taxes to our state’s cultural development. When you contribute to the Tualatin Library Foundation, you can make a matching gift to the Trust that comes back to you as a tax credit. You are saying to the State or Oregon, “please put a portion of my taxes into the Cultural Trust to support arts and culture in Oregon.”
Here’s How It Works:
1. Donate to the Tualatin Library Foundation.
2. At the same time, make a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust.
3. Claim your matching gift as a 100% tax credit, reducing your taxes owed, up to $500 for individuals, $1,000 for couples filing jointly, and $2,500 for corporations.*
4. Your gift to the Trust supports grants that benefit cultural activities across Oregon.
To illustrate: A couple who makes a $1,000 contribution to the Tualatin Library Foundation and a $1,000 contribution to the Oregon Cultural Trust will receive a $1,000 tax credit on their Oregon Income Tax, a $1,000 deduction on their state income tax and may receive a $2,000 federal deduction. The tax benefits of charitable contributions depend on your personal tax situation. You should consult your personal tax adviser if you have any questions.
*Unlike a tax deduction that only reduces the amount of your taxable income, a tax credit reduces the amount of tax you owe dollar for dollar.
Oregon Cultural Trust donors are building a $200 million endowment that benefits every corner of Oregon and provides grants for historic preservation, public broadcasting, libraries and literacy programs, museums of all kinds, and the performing arts. Learn more about the Oregon Cultural Trust.
